Aren't I Callus?

After nearly two months of sandal season, my feet started to look rough--literally. We're talking hard-core calluses. I recently wrote about how I usually turn to topical solutions to get smoother feet, but even that wasn't cutting it anymore. So I did what any well-heeled woman would, and turned to my Tweezerman callus remover. I know some women are terrified of callus removers because they use a razor blade to take off dry, dead skin. Personally, I've never so much as nicked myself (thank you, safety shield) and nothing, and I mean nothing, is so effective at giving me gorgeous tootsies.

Stretching It

Got stretch marks? I do (I'm not telling where!) as does almost every woman I know. Stretch marks are nothing more than scars, essentially; they're the result of broken down collagen and elastin that's been--you guessed it--overstretched, either due to weight gain, pregnancy or normal growth. In some cases, lasers can treat them, but I'm actually pretty chicken about getting under a burning hot light for any length of time--especially when the results aren't guaranteed. My less-than-perfect but relatively effective stretch mark solution is a healthy dose of Clarins Delicious Self-Tanning Cream--self-tanner makes them less obvious--and a regular application of Retin-A, which helps rebuild collagen. What do you do? Would you go under the laser for perfectly smooth skin?

How Callus!

I'm a bit of an exercise nut: love, love love the way I feel after a long run or a good sweat session at the gym. (It doesn't hurt that working out negates my guilt from my all-too-frequent cupcake splurges). But exercising has given me some serious calluses on my feet, and no monthly pedicure can undo the damage. Instead, I rely on weekly DIY sessions with Sally Hansen Just Feet Deep Callus Remover. When the going gets really rough, I slather super-thick lotion (Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Creme is a fav) and put a pair of socks on, and leave the whole concoction on overnight. What's your smooth feet solution?
